Our Favorite NW Golf Courses That You Need to Play This Year!
With Spring in full effect (85 degrees one day and 60 with rain the next), Oregon is ready for fair-weather golfers to flood the Pacific Northwest courses. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite courses around the area. None of the courses listed below have paid us to be on this list. We’ve personally golfed all of these courses and have had a great time. Also, all of the courses listed below feature Club Car golf cars, so you know you’ll be riding in comfort and style if you rent a car. One thing to note about this list is that prices range from low to medium to high, which gives you plenty of quality options no matter your budget.
Budget-Friendly Courses:
Oak Knoll Golf Course – Salem, Oregon
The Oak Knoll Golf Course, the valley’s oldest course, started out as the Allen Grant which was later purchased by Mr. Phau. The early history was given by Mr. Mark Capps, son of Effie Phau, who later married Marcus Capps. The large white farm house across the road from the Oak Knoll Golf Course was the Capps home. This is a stunning course with 60 foot tall Sequoias that border many of the fairways on the back nine. Golfers of any ability will love this beautiful track. They also offer a special discount for active military and veterans. The course is now under new ownership.

Pumpkin Ridge, Ghost Creek – Portland, Oregon
Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club’s par-71, 6,839-yard Ghost Creek layout was crafted by Bob Cupp in the “old” style, leaving the Portland wetlands terrain completely natural. This Portland public golf course is subtle and cunning, featuring a variety of distinct and equally memorable holes framed by lush stands of trees, dramatic mountain vistas and ragged wetlands. The phantom Ghost Creek materializes throughout the golf course, adding to the layout’s stunning beauty.
